When Children Need More Than Just School

Some children find it harder to connect, build confidence or feel comfortable in everyday environments.

They may spend more time on screens, struggle socially, or simply not have many opportunities to try new things, build friendships or feel part of something.

Over time, this can affect confidence, independence and how they see themselves.

A Safe and Supportive Space to Grow

ADAPT is a weekly youth project for children aged 7 to 11, designed to give them a place where they feel comfortable, included and able to be themselves.

Sessions take place in a structured but relaxed environment, where children can take part in activities, interact with others and build confidence at their own pace.

It is not about pressure or performance. It is about creating the right environment for children to feel safe enough to engage.

Children at ADAPT take part in a wide range of activities designed to build confidence, curiosity and independence.

Building Confidence Through Experience

Children at ADAPT take part in a wide range of activities designed to build confidence, curiosity and independence.

Many of these are things they may not normally get the opportunity to do.

Through shared experiences, they begin to:

  • feel more confident around others
  • communicate more openly
  • take part without fear of judgement
  • develop friendships and social skills

Over time, the biggest change is often simple but important — they begin to feel like they belong.

Sessions run weekly at Dunchurch Village Hall, creating a consistent and familiar environment.

Children often stay with the group for long periods of time, allowing relationships to develop naturally and confidence to grow steadily.

This consistency is what helps children settle, engage and feel part of something stable.

Supporting Children at an Important Stage

ADAPT supports children at a stage where early experiences shape confidence, behaviour and social development.

By giving them a positive environment now, we help build the foundations they carry into school, friendships and everyday life.

If you are a parent or guardian looking for a supportive, engaging environment for your child, we would be happy to talk through whether ADAPT is the right fit.
